MMA Academy replaces guesses with knowledge

MMA Academy isn't just about top-class training. An equally important dimension in order to bring your fight game to the next level, is to help you to get a few facts right when it comes to vital areas such as injury treatment and your physical work-outs.

To remedy the mess of theories out there, we've put together a series of seminars during the years covering different topics, from which participants have benefited greatly to grow as fighters. Our mission is to replace all guesses with true and tested knowledge, and helping us in this are true experts in their respective field.

MMA Academy Summer Camp 2012 offers two seminars – one inspirational about the life as a UFC fighter and one about physical training.

"This has been one of the most intense, fun, and inspiring weeks for many years. So f***ng great! I haven't missed anything. Thanks."
Jonatan Vik, Frontline Muay Thai, Oslo

Inspirational lecture about the life as a UFC fighter | Magnus "Jycken" Cedenblad

jyckenAt previous camps we've always had inspirational seminars – and they've been very appreciated and talked-about. We've had UFC veteran Brandon Vera sharing his inner thoughts about his life and career; we've had former wrestling world champ Martin Lidberg tell us about his mental game and what he did to become a world champ against all odds; we've had world-champ boxer George Scott sharing his life story and own experiences from having sex before fighting; we've had our favority boxing coach Andreas Michael taking us on a journey with the Swedish national boxing team to Russia och Cuba and sharing his insights from a successful life on the international boxing scene. And so on. These inspirational seminars have all been eye-opening and awesome, to say the least. Some of them have even made us cry a tear or two.

This year the inspirational seminar will be about life as a UFC fighter. You'll be taken behind the curtains and get first-hand insights what goes on when the TV lights are out and the showtime beating is over. What is it really about fighting in the UFC? What does the training look like? How does the UFC organisation help you. At this seminar recently-signed Swedish UFC fighter Magnys ”Jycken” Cedenblad will guide us through the UFC jungle. Magnus is the perfect man for this job, as he loves to talk, and laughs a lot. Be inspired. And feel free to ask questions.

How to become the best possible fighter you can be | Joakim Engberg

jThis year Joakim Engberg will help you to understand what it takes and how to think and train to become the best possible fighter you can be.

No matter whether you're just training for fun or if you have a dream of once stepping into the UFC octagon with thousands and thousands of people cheering you, you will benefit greatly from this seminar. Joakim runs GBG MMA – the biggest MMA gym in Sweden – and is the head coach for a bunch of successful pro fighters, among them Alistair Overeem. During the years Joakim therefore has seen hundreds of fighters passing by, some making it to the pro scene, some really never improving. Learning from all these years and experiences, Joakim will share with us what he has seen as pivotal turning points and critical mindsets and attitudes in order for a fighter to take the next step.
